Old School Wheelz
Our Work
Our Task:
Sandprint Studios was tasked with producing a documentary showcasing vintage cars. In Jamaica, few individuals collect, restore, and maintain vintage antique cars. Victor Dixon, a collector in Mandeville, owns a collection valued at over tens of millions. Due to the island’s limitations and active hurricane season, our producers scheduled multiple shoot days to capture the cars in the open and coordinate with Mr. Dixon. Sandprint Studios successfully produced an award winning documentary “Old School Wheelz,” highlighting Dixon’s extensive and impressive collection.
Process:
Step 1
During the planning phase, one of the main challenges was coordinating with Victor Dixon amidst the active hurricane season especially in Mandeville which is known for its unpredictable weather and afternoon rain. To ensure smooth shooting, our producers scheduled multiple days, with flexibility built into the timeline to account for weather disruptions. They also worked to secure all necessary permits and ensured logistics were set up ahead of time, allowing for adjustments when needed.
Step 2
On the day of production team remained adaptable, adjusting the shooting schedule and location based on weather patterns. They also managed technical challenges, like equipment setup in varying environments, by ensuring backup gear was available and that the crew was prepared for quick changes.
Step 3
In the end with tight deadlines, the team worked efficiently to edit and fine-tune the documentary. They collaborated closely with editors to ensure high-quality visuals and sound, even amidst delays caused by unforeseen weather-related scheduling. The result was a polished documentary that effectively showcased Dixon’s rare and valuable collection and we later got permission to submit for a Well-known Film festival in Jamaica
