Summary:
Family Food Battle is an exciting new reality series where two families from across Jamaica compete in weekly cook-offs for a cash prize of $50,000. Each episode features families preparing meals from a mystery box of local ingredients, judged by chefs Andre Sewell and Samantha George based on taste, creativity, and presentation. With 26 families participating, the show promises drama, competition, and family fun, all while offering valuable cooking tips for viewers.
Process:
Step 1
The first step was a rigorous audition process to select 26 families from across Jamaica. Each family was chosen based on their culinary skills and potential for exciting drama. We then organized the logistics, securing filming locations and assembling the production team, including hosts and judges.
Step 2
Filming took place with the families preparing meals using mystery boxes of local ingredients within 90 minutes. The production team coordinated with the families to ensure smooth cooking and filming while capturing the high-energy moments of competition and family dynamics.
Step 3
After filming, the footage was edited to create a fast-paced, engaging show with an emphasis on the families’ personalities, the drama of the cook-off, and educational moments on cooking. The show premiered on TVJ, airing every Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
Results
The series successfully attracted a wide audience, creating excitement and anticipation each week. While catching the attention of media and newspapers it was brought back on for a 2nd Season.
